Demelza Hospice Care for Children gets ALL of the money if you buy a used Masonic book

NB: This used book sale will not commence until later in the year. This is to enable all books (apprx 450) to be properly listed prior to sale

This is a one-off appeal, via masonic regalia shop, suppliers of masonic regalia, to obtain much needed additional monies for Demelza Hospice Care for Children and for you to obtain a used Masonic book or two.

It goes without saying I feel sure, that you do your bit for charity and to make additional requests on what is of course a finite resource in these difficult times may be a little unrealistic. What we propose however is perhaps a little different in that you will get something in return for any monies given to charity!

We have a very nice library of some 450 (apprx) used Masonic books dating back to the 1870's. These, together with books on related topics will undoubtedly appeal to those Freemasons searching for Masonic knowledge. Some books are perhaps old chestnuts but there are quite a few that are seldom available and somewhat difficult to obtain.

We intend to put these books on our website over the next couple of months and all we will invite you to make us an offer by email for any book you may be interested in obtaining.

Every single penny raised will be going to Demelza Hospice Care for Children who are in the process of having to expand their premises and facilities to (sadly) meet increasing demand.

This will be a one-off opportunity brethren as once a book has gone it has gone. This venture is unrelated to masonic regalia shop in any way in a commercial sense, albeit they are the website owner's own book collection, as this is strictly a charity matter. However, it does make good sense to use the website’s profile and reach to promote this offer to as many brethren as possible. Please come back soon to see the books as they are added and email us with your details and we will notify you of when they will go live for sale...please remember.. 'EVERY SINGLE PENNY' raised will go to Demelza Childrens Hospice Care for Children.

NB: Although we make every effort to make the description and year of publication as accurate as possible, if you wish to please ask us for clarification and/or confirmation of aspect relating to a book prior to purchase. We cannot be held responsible if your purchase does not fully meet your expectations. Should you require it however, we will provide a full refund on return of any book, no questions asked, but any carriage charges must be at your own expense. We would also need an email prior to any proposed return so we know we can expect its arrival.

Beyond Demelza – sell YOUR used books for YOUR chosen cause/charity.

We would like to invite any person out there who may have the odd Masonic related book or two gathering dust to use them to generate some money for a good cause. It doesn’t matter  if your books are old and well thumbed as these can be worth quite a lot to the person who is looking for them. Likewise, it doesn’t matter if you only have one book - most participators will probably fit into this category. If you can get £5.00 for one book then it will be far better than it remaining sitting on your bookshelf or in a drawer somewhere gathering dust; likely final destination, the rubbish bin!

If you would like to send us the details of your unwanted books e.g. titles, authors, years of publication, photo’s if possible etc, we will be pleased to list them on our website for you completely free of charge. We will also be happy to liaise, on your behalf, with potential purchasers who may wish to obtain your books.

Once we have determined genuine interest we would propose to put the potential purchaser in direct contact with you if you agree, and you can then complete the transaction to your satisfaction. Alternatively we will be happy to complete the deal for you and send you the full monies raised. If we complete the sale for you then should the buyer opt to pay by Payp Pal there would need to be a small charge of apprx. 4% which would be solely to cover the transaction charges which would be made to us by Paypal. Obviously this would not apply if the purchaser paid by cheque which we will be heartily encouraging.

Our only requests are that all monies raised are donated to the charity/cause of your choice and we are informed of the name of whom the recipient was and the amount donated.
